    In this lecture, we will explore the history of ancient Amathus, its early inhabitants, their culture, and the ruins that remain today. We'll also discuss the correct way to name the city — Amathus or Amathous.

    At the lecture we will get acquainted with the ancient city of Amathus.

    ▪️We will talk about the locals who settled the city before the arrival of the first Greeks and about their mysterious language.

    ▪️We will read ancient authors who talked about human sacrifices, mass prostitution and other amusements of the townspeople.

    ▪️We will find out what ruins of buildings you can see with your own eyes.

    ▪️And, of course, we will talk about the correct name of the city - Amathus, Amathus or Amathus.
